Remote Operations & Project Management Associate for CPG Consulting Firm

Work Schedule: Mountain Time (MT) | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MT (~90% overlap), with light flex on start/end times

Compensation Range: $2,000 – $2,500 USD/month based on experience

About the Client + Role

A US-based fractional consulting firm operating across the consumer packaged goods (CPG) space is hiring an Operations & Project Management Associate to convert call-driven action items into structured, owned, deadline-bound work — and give the founding partners their evenings and weekends back.

The firm is a small, three-person team whose founding partners embed deeply with their clients as fractional executives — spending the bulk of every workday in back-to-back client calls. The day-to-day capture, routing, and follow-through of client commitments has become the binding constraint on growth, quality, and partner capacity.

This role owns project management out of client meetings end-to-end: capturing 15–30 to-dos per call, routing them with clear ownership in Asana, and managing each item through completion. It also covers internal billing and client payment tracking, recurring admin execution, and lower-complexity client-facing written communication drafted in the partner's voice. Success means the partners' working hours measurably decrease and the post-call cycle runs without prompting.

Requirements

Must-Have

• 3+ years of professional experience in operations, project management, founder's associate, chief of staff, or operator-style roles, with at least one role at a 2–50 person company
• C1+ English proficiency (CEFR) for written and verbal communication with US-based clients on video, phone, and in writing
• Demonstrated working-level fluency with ChatGPT and/or Claude, with a verifiable use case of using AI tools to draft, review, or unblock work in a recent role
• Hands-on proficiency with Asana (or a direct equivalent: ClickUp, Monday, Trello) and Microsoft Office Suite, including working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
• Direct prior working exposure to a US-based principal, partner, founder, or executive — with documented client-facing written communication on their behalf
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of at least one workflow (e.g., billing cycle, SOP rollout, follow-up system, reporting dashboard) — not assigned-task execution only
• Commitment to a 9-hour daily window inside 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Time, Monday–Friday

Nice-to-Have

• Direct experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), consumer goods, brand, or retail
• Advanced Excel: clean, reusable models, dashboards, and structured reporting beyond basic spreadsheet work
• Advanced AI workflows: agent workflows or light coding inside AI tools (e.g., custom GPTs, prompt chains, automations)
• Experience with time-tracking tools (e.g., Clockify, Harvest, Toggl) used for client-bucket reporting
• Background in fractional consulting, boutique advisory, or professional services firms (2–20 people)
