Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) builds and operates the systems behind the world's largest e-commerce product catalog, enabling customers to find, discover, and buy anything they want. The Offer Projections and Insights team within ASCS owns the diagnostic, analytics, and aggregation services that power offer intelligence at Amazon scale — serving billions of requests daily at single-digit millisecond latency.
We are hiring a Software Development Manager to lead a team building the next generation of offer diagnostic and insight capabilities. You will own:
This role sits at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems and emerging AI/agentic commerce. You will define how diagnostic and projection capabilities evolve to support autonomous shopping agents, hyper-local offer accuracy, and contextual catalog experiences while still owning critical services that power the core customer journey. You'll collaborate across multiple VP-level organizations to shape technical strategy and deliver customer-facing impact.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager, you will be joining the team that enables Amazon's Catalog to operate at scale. You will be leading a team of software developers solving novel technical challenges, working with tenured Principal Engineers and Senior Software Engineers on a daily basis.
What makes this role unique: You won't just operate existing systems — you'll define the agentic diagnostic paradigm: how AI agents reason about offer availability, diagnose purchase failures, and self-heal catalog issues at scale — while owning the Tier-1 aggregation services that directly power the customer shopping experience on Amazon's detail pages.
