The JVS Verification Associate performs routine, standardized jewelry evaluations in accordance with GIA methodology and established procedures to verify core jewelry attributes. The Associate works within clearly defined guidelines to ensure accuracy and consistency, accurately documenting results and escalating all discrepancies, uncertainties, and non-routine findings for review. This role is focused on execution, quality, and adherence to process in a production-driven environment.
Perform high-volume, standardized jewelry evaluations using GIA methodology to verify core attributes (e.g., condition, metal type, diamond quality); meet daily production targets for completed evaluations (40%)
Execute verification workflows consistently, ensuring compliance with established procedures, quality standards, and documentation guidelines (30%)
Accurately document all verification outcomes in applicable systems with a strong focus on completeness and audit readiness (10%)
Identify discrepancies, irregularities, or non-standard findings and escalate appropriately in accordance with defined escalation protocols (10%)
Maintain organized, accurate, and complete records to support quality assurance reviews and traceability (10%)
Follow all security, handling, and chain-of-custody procedures when working with jewelry items to ensure asset protection
Consistently meet defined KPIs for accuracy, throughput, and error rate, while maintaining attention to detail
Support quality control initiatives, including re-checks or audits as directed by supervisors
Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding workflow issues, backlog risks, or process concerns
Adhere to all operational, safety, and compliance guidelines within a production-driven lab environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge & Experience Required)
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, or related field preferred
Graduate Gemologist (GG) diploma or equivalent credential preferred
Proven ability to meet production goals while maintaining high levels of accuracy and consistency
Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures with minimal deviation
