Patient Advocate / Legal Case Coordinator
The Senior Patient Advocate / Legal Case Coordinator serves as a vital liaison between patients, medical providers, and legal representatives to ensure seamless coordination of care and timely resolution of attorney-related accounts. This role combines advanced patient advocacy responsibilities with legal workflow coordination and settlement follow-up.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing high-volume communication in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong critical thinking skills, professionalism, and the ability to effectively manage sensitive patient and legal account matters.
Complete affidavits, DWQs, reductions, and related legal and administrative tasks
Track and maintain organized documentation on case status updates, settlement progression, reductions, legal correspondence, and outstanding payments
Follow up with law firms regarding unresolved balances, payment status, and settlement-related accounts
Patient & Case Coordination
Coordinate patient care, including appointments, procedures, and treatment-related services
Maintain ongoing communication with patients regarding treatment plans and scheduling
Identify and resolve barriers to care to ensure continuity of treatment
Communicate with patient legal representation, case managers, and referral sources regarding patient status and updates
Manage timely transmission of medical records, billing, and treatment updates
Complete orders, referrals, and procedure workflows to ensure continuity of care
Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred
Familiar with court systems and legal workflows
Strong organizational, multitasking, and task prioritization skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, documentation, and follow through
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and related apps
Experience with EMR/EHR systems
Experience with Smartsheet or other similar management platforms preferred
Education & Training
Current Texas Notary Public preferred
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Minimum one year of relevant personal injury experience required
Minimum one year of relevant healthcare administration experience required
HIPAA compliance training required (training available if necessary)
