Job Description

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Core Services team within Enterprise Technology Services.

Your Opportunity

In this role, you will be designing, building and supporting critical systems that underpin Cuscal’s payments platforms. You will work across end-to-end engineering, from developing scalable applications to supporting production systems that process high-volume, real-time transactions.

This is a hands-on, full-stack role suited to someone who thrives in a small, high-impact team and is comfortable owning outcomes across the full software lifecycle.

You’ll also make an impact by

• Designing, developing and maintaining scalable applications across front-end, middleware and backend layers
• Contributing to portal development, with exposure to platforms such as Liferay or similar technologies
• Building and supporting microservices and integrations aligned with enterprise architecture standards
• Taking ownership of solutions through a DevOps mindset, including build, deployment and ongoing support
• Participating in CI/CD practices and contribute to automation and continuous improvement
• Supporting production systems, including participation in a rostered on-call support model
• Collaborating closely with engineers, product owners and stakeholders to deliver business outcomes
• Conducting testing across unit, integration and functional levels to ensure quality delivery
• Troubleshooting and resolve production issues to maintain system performance and reliability

Qualifications

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll have

• 3 to 5 years of software engineering experience across full-stack environments
• Strong experience in modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular or Node.js
• Backend development experience including Java or similar, with exposure to REST APIs and microservices
• Experience working with cloud technologies, ideally AWS
• Exposure to CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices
• Understanding of databases and system integrations
• Comfortable working across development, testing and production support
• Confident in technical discussions, with a transparent and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following

• Experience with portal technologies such as Liferay
• Exposure to payments or financial services systems, including settlements or transaction processing
• Experience with tools and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Maven or automated testing framework
