Software Dev Engineer II, Amazon Detail Page

At the heart of Amazon's e-commerce platform lies a critical system that demands high reliability - our Product Detail Pages. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer who's energized by the challenge of maintaining 99.999% availability while serving billions of requests daily. As a key member of our Tier 1 services team, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing systems where every millisecond matters and reliability is non-negotiable.

In this role, you'll dive deep into complex distributed systems challenges that directly impact Amazon's core shopping experience. You'll architect and implement sophisticated caching solutions, design real-time monitoring systems, and build auto-recovery mechanisms that keep our services running flawlessly. Your code will need to perform consistently across global regions, handle massive traffic spikes gracefully, and maintain optimal latency under heavy loads. We're looking for someone who gets excited about performance optimization, who can implement elegant solutions to complex problems, and who understands the intricacies of building highly available distributed systems.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
