Reporting to the Production Supervisor (Piping & Mechanical), the TIG Welder is responsible for working within a team to perform precision welding on metal pipes and components using the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) method.
The role ensures high-quality welds are achieved in accordance with project specifications, while contributing to minimal production time and maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.
Completion of a formal TIG welding training program or apprenticeship
Strong understanding of TIG welding principles, techniques, and safety protocols
Ability to perform high-precision welds with minimal defects
Familiarity with material preparation, preheating, and weld inspection
Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, spool drawings, and welding symbols
Experience working with various metals including stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, and copper
Proficiency in measuring, planning welds, and understanding material thicknesses
Commitment to safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and hazard handling.
