Dental Biller (US Dental Client)

Position Summary

The Dental Biller is responsible for managing the full dental revenue cycle for US-based dental practices.

This includes insurance eligibility verification, pre-authorizations, claim submission, denial management,

appeals, and patient collections. The role focuses on maximizing reimbursement, reducing accounts

receivable days,and ensuring compliance with US dental insurance regulations and HIPAA standards.

Key Responsibilities

Verify patient eligibility and benefits with US dental insurance carriers prior to services.

Obtain and track pre-authorizations for dental procedures as required by insurance plans.

Accurately prepare and submit dental claims (electronic and paper).

Attach required supporting documentation including x-rays, narratives, perio charts, and clinical

notes.

Monitor claim status and proactively follow up on unpaid, rejected, or delayed claims.

Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and identify underpayments or denials.

Manage denial resolution including corrections, resubmissions, and formal appeals.

Prepare and submit appeals with appropriate documentation when claims are improperly denied.

Post insurance payments and contractual adjustments accurately in the practice management

system.

Communicate professionally with insurance carriers regarding claim discrepancies and payment

issues.

Coordinate with front desk and clinical teams to ensure proper documentation for billing

compliance.

Handle patient billing inquiries and assist with patient collections when applicable.

Generate aging reports and provide AR updates to management.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of US dental billing experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of CDT coding and US dental insurance billing processes.

Experience with dental practice management systems (Dentrix, Dental Exchange).

Ability to interpret EOBs and manage complex denial scenarios.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Familiarity with HIPAA and US healthcare compliance standards.

Strong communication and follow-up skills with payers and patients
