Network Operations Trainee

Role Overview

As a Network Operations Trainee, you will support the engineering and operations teams in monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing the performance of ExpressVPN’s global network. This role is ideal for early-career professionals passionate about networking technologies, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity principles. You will gain hands-on experience with real-world systems and tools that power an international VPN service.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring network health, performance, and availability across ExpressVPN’s global infrastructure.

Respond to alerts and assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving network incidents.

Collaborate with senior engineers to document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and incident playbooks.

Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to after-hours incident response as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills

Good understanding of networking concepts.

Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana) or willingness to learn.

Comfortable working with Linux/Unix systems.

Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or GCP) is desirable.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

At the moment, we do not sponsor visas in the EU. For Hong Kong, we require at least two years of working experience and a university degree in a related field. For Singapore and the UK, we can only sponsor visas for mid-career or above.
