Senior Engineer – Mechanical Services

As demand for exceptional Mechanical Services design continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a Senior Engineer – Mechanical Services to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects for our clients.
You will be an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer with a strong technical background and a proven track record of delivering projects in one or more sectors in which BakerHicks operates. Ideally, you will be professionally registered or working towards chartership.
Design and specify all aspects of Mechanical Building Services in accordance with current standards, guidelines, regulations, and project requirements
Support and mentor our Early Careers population, contributing to continuous improvement of departmental capability
Manage Mechanical Services involvement on small to medium-sized projects, including time, cost, quality, delivery, and client relationships
Champion quality, compliance, and best practice across projects and local teams
Deliver Mechanical Building Services design and consultancy services under the direction of a line manager or project lead
Produce high-quality design deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Undertake site surveys and support construction-stage activities
Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and members of multi-disciplinary design and construction teams
Check calculations and detailed designs to ensure compliance with project briefs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Contribute to bids, proposals, tender reviews, fee estimates, scopes of work, and change control activities
Support project management activities, including programme delivery and cost control
Ensure compliance with BakerHicks’ quality management systems and engineering best practice
Line manage and technically oversee Engineers, Technicians, and Early Careers staff as required
NBS Create / Chorus
Many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels.
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.
In some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.
