Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee and manage core accounting operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, leading month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting financial reporting and compliance. The Senior Accountant will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, drive process improvements, and provide guidance to junior team members. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and highly proficient in accounting systems and Excel.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage end-to-end accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Review and approve invoices, journal entries, and reconciliations prepared by junior team members
Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies (including use of Xflow and other systems)
Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, including accruals, provisions, and adjustments
Own and drive the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including variance analysis and management reporting packages
Manage payment runs, including approvals, file uploads, and cash flow considerations
Oversee intercompany transactions, payroll accounting, and staff expense processing
Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records, including customer, vendor, and transaction data
Lead account reconciliations and ensure all supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready
Support audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring compliance with internal controls
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting workflows
Maintain and enhance Excel workpapers and financial models
Monitor and manage accounting-related communications, ensuring timely and professional responses
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial decision-making
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants and support their professional development

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred)
  • 4–7+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
  • Proven experience managing AP, AR, and general ledger functions
  • Experience reviewing work and guiding junior team members is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Close attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and Xflow (or similar ERP systems)
