The Public Affairs team at Grab is dedicated to shaping a supportive regulatory environment and strategic partnerships to guide economic empowerment and digital inclusion in Southeast Asia. We engage with government partners, industry associations and civil society to advocate for policies that support our ecosystem of drivers, merchants and consumers ensuring Grab can continue to create meaningful value for Thailand.
We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs professional to join our dynamic team in Thailand. You will become a strategic operator with an understanding of the Thai political and regulatory landscape with a broad range of stakeholders. You will help develop public policy strategies, independently managing complex regulatory issues, and enhancing Grab's reputation as a responsible and impactful technology leader in Thailand.
You will independently conduct in-depth analysis of Thailand's political landscape to create public affair strategies
You will monitor legislative and policy development and assessing their potential impact on Grab's operations
You will create strategy paper with data-driven recommendations
You will create policy positions and articulate Grab's value proposition through briefings and papers
You will collaborate with other teams (legal, operations, product and business development teams) to ensure public affairs plans are aligned with company strategy
You will build a relationship with a broad range of local government partners (including core agencies, government officials, think tanks and KOLs)
You will be a credible representative of Grab when engaging with government partners
You will represent Grab in closed-door engagements with external partners
You will identify opportunities for strategic partnership to promote Grab's public affairs goals
You can gather intelligence on partners to inform strategic approaches
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Communications, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
6+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, policy advocacy, or corporate communications from technology company, consulting firm, or government agency in Thailand.
Experience engaging with regulators is advantage. These regulators are from the financial and tax industry, including the Bank of Thailand, Anti-Money Laundering Office (Thailand), Revenue Department, Ministry of Finance, and others.
Experience with the Thai government and political landscape, including core agencies, their internal dynamics, and engage with senior government officials.
Fluent in Thai and English with excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with the tech industry, digital economy, and platform business models is a significant advantage.
