Pay: Starting at $30.00+/hour (depending on experience)
We are seeking an experienced CNC Punch Press Setup Technician to support precision sheet metal operations. This role is responsible for preparing, programming, and running turret punch equipment while maintaining consistent quality and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Prepare CNC punch press machines for production, including loading programs, selecting tooling, and staging materials
Set and verify punches, dies, and forming tools to ensure proper alignment and accuracy
Review part layouts and adjust setups to improve efficiency and reduce material waste
Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues such as tool wear, feeding inconsistencies, or material defects
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to confirm specifications are met
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical instructions
Maintain accurate records for production output and quality checks
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet deadlines and output goals
Manage assigned work independently while maintaining throughput and quality standards
Follow all safety protocols within a high-volume manufacturing setting
Required Experience & Skills
At least 5 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC turret punch equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Experience working with sheet metal materials including galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers
Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting capabilities
Solid math skills, including geometry and trigonometry
Ability to plan work, estimate timelines, and prioritize tasks effectively
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (standing, bending, walking)
Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions (hot and cold environments)
Willingness to work either 1st or 3rd shift as required
