Finance Manager - Internal Controls & Governance
The Finance Manager – Control & Governance is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls across business units through structured testing, monitoring, and governance practices. The role supports compliance with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in control processes. It also partners with stakeholders to strengthen risk management frameworks and support audit readiness.
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
CPA, CIA, ACCA, or equivalent certification (preferred) or currently pursuing professional certification
4–6 years of relevant experience in controllership, internal/external audit, or risk and controls
Hands-on experience in internal controls testing, documentation, and issue remediation
Experience working in multi-entity environments and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders is an advantage
Strong knowledge of PFRS and statutory/regulatory compliance requirements, with the ability to translate these into practical controls and procedures
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); exposure to SAP S/4HANA and analytics tools is a plus
Conduct enterprise-wide controls testing, including design and operating effectiveness assessments across business units
Prepare audit-ready documentation such as workpapers, evidence logs, and control narratives
Monitor identified issues, validate remediation actions, and escalate high-risk or overdue items
Maintain and update Finance Control & Governance documentation, including policies, SOPs, walkthroughs, and templates
Review and quality-assure process owner submissions to ensure alignment with governance standards and recommend improvements
Support implementation of control-related initiatives and manage change impacts in coordination with stakeholders
Develop dashboards and reports to track testing outcomes, exceptions, and issue aging
Follow up on action plans with process owners to ensure timely closure and escalate risks or delays
Support quality assurance reviews across key finance processes (e.g., S2P, R2R, M2C, PS, A2D)
Facilitate process walkthroughs, identify control gaps, and assist in implementing corrective actions
Develop training materials and support governance-related training and rollout activities
Assess the impact of ERP and reporting system changes on controls; update risk and control matrices (RCMs) and testing procedures accordingly
Collaborate with IT and control owners to validate system controls and gather audit evidence (e.g., system logs, workflow trails, reports)
Identify opportunities for automation and continuous monitoring, including exception reporting and dashboarding, and coordinate implementation with relevant stakeholders
