As a Fitter Machinist, you will show up each day with a sense of enthusiasm and commitment to helping ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest quality.
Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes.
Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Ensure measurements and components meet required tolerances.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC lathes as needed.
Undertake materials handling / processing and associated tasks with the emphasis on Safety, Quality, productivity, cost, continuous improvement, delivery and Environmental concerns
Participate in any required site and training service provider learning, training and skill development
Ensure compliance to ISO9001 and all Bradken Quality policies and procedures and participate where required in any associated Quality audits
Assist and work with maintenance and engineering personnel where necessary
Coaching and mentoring apprentices and junior personnel as required
Support the Machine Shop with additional tasks as required.
You will have the enthusiasm and self-drive to work to the highest standard. You will champion safety, mentor less experienced staff, and help deliver great results.
Formal trade qualification
3 years’ experience in a mechanical trade within a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Knowledge of safe working procedures
Sound numeric reasoning
Ability to communicate in English
Knowledge of process improvement techniques (desirable)
