Agtonomy brings intelligent automation to agriculture, turf and other demanding industrial markets through Physical AI and software services. By partnering with trusted equipment manufacturers, factory-fit technology that transforms industrial machines into smart, efficient solutions built for safety and performance are a reality. Our team combines expertise in technology, product development, and industry knowledge to address critical challenges like labor shortages, sustainability, and productivity. We’re looking for people who want to work in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where their ideas can make a real impact.
We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Manager who is ready to step in, take ownership, and help build the foundation of a scalable function. This is a hands-on role for someone who is just as comfortable closing the books as they are improving the process behind it.
You’ll be a key partner to the CFO, owning critical pieces of the close and day-to-day accounting while helping bring structure to a growing organization.
This role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls and compliance. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and analytical. The candidate is experienced in creating processes from scratch and managing the monthly close process and financial forecasting. This position will report directly to the CFO and will be located in South San Francisco in a hybrid work environment.
Own and execute key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with a focus on accuracy and speed
Manage core accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, accruals, and reconciliations
Take full ownership of assigned areas of the general ledger—digging in, resolving issues, and keeping things clean
Identify gaps in processes and proactively build better, more scalable ways of working
Support audits and compliance requirements with well-organized documentation and follow-through
Contribute to financial reporting and analysis that helps leadership make informed decisions
Deliver financial analysis and reporting to support leadership decision-making
Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
Partner with cross-functional teams to support procurement, billing, pricing and gather financial inputs to support business planning
Support audit processes and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Drive expense reduction initiatives through detailed financial analysis, budget variance review, and process improvements across departments to improve cost discipline and forecast accuracy.
Jump into ad-hoc work as needed. This is a role where priorities shift and flexibility matters
You’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves and doing the work, especially when the path isn’t fully defined
You look for ways to improve processes instead of just maintaining them
You’re adaptable and calm under pressure when priorities shift
Passionate about making an impact
