TFCs support migration entities with the set-up of the new process and data environment.
Provides expertise in both technical and functional aspects of the project.
Works closely with data domain Responsible to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Facilitate and lead data mapping workshops with Business Types, local teams, and migration entities to define transformation rules.
Translate functional business requirements into technically executable migration specifications (documented in the MDD) for the ETL and Data Migration team members.
Act as the functional bridge between business stakeholders and the technical migration team throughout the migration lifecycle
Assists technical migration team with technical validations during migration cycles.
Sophisticated data domain knowledge (i.e. Finance, Accounting or Logistics)
Test management (SIT, UAT), defect tracking, ChaRM basics
Interfaces & integrations
IDocs, APIs, middleware coordination (CPI/PO awareness)
Basic ABAP reading capability
Understand custom code impact (no need to code, but must assess feasibility)
Data Migration & Cutover (Critical for S/4 Programs)
From SHERPA X and similar programs, this is a must‑have.
Data migration strategy
Object scoping, mock cycles, reconciliation approach
Hands‑on knowledge of tools
Migration Cockpit (LTMC / Fiori App)
LSMW / BAPI / IDoc concepts
Exposure to BODS / Syniti is a strong plus
Reconciliation & sign‑off
Financial and logistics data validation with business
Cutover planning
Freeze strategy, go‑live checklist, rollback readiness
Testing & Quality Management
A Techno‑Functional Manager owns test success, not just execution.
Test strategy definition
End‑to‑End scenario ownership
Cross‑module process testing (e.g., P2P → FI posting)
Defect triage leadership
Business vs technical defect classification
Test automation awareness
Tools like Worksoft Certify (advantage)
Nice‑to‑Have / Differentiators
Brownfield vs Greenfield conversion exposure
AI & automation awareness
Test automation, analytics, agent‑assisted operations
Industry experience
SAP certifications
S/4HANA Finance / Logistics / Activate
Good Communication / Functional Consulting / Data Domain Expertise. Should have handled a team of Technical Migration Experts. Will to work in Shifts
