As a 310T Mechanic, you play a critical role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. This advanced position requires expertise in troubleshooting and executing intricate repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety. As a leader in the shop, you will set the standard for technical excellence and mentor junior mechanics.

Independently diagnose and repair diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cell engines using advanced diagnostic tools.
Ensure long-term reliability and optimal performance of vehicle powertrains.
Diagnose and repair HVAC systems to maintain temperature control and airflow.
Troubleshoot alternators, generators, and voltage regulators to ensure electrical functionality.
Service suspension, braking, and steering systems to uphold safety and performance standards.
Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including lighting, gauges, and electric motors.
Maintain and service pneumatic valves, control cables, and linkages for precise operation.
Perform lubrication tasks such as oil changes, air filter replacements, and chassis lubrication.
Change transmission fluid, check differential fluid, and replace tires while identifying potential issues.
Repair or replace radiators, water pumps, hoses, wheel bearings, seals, door assemblies, and control systems.
Act as a primary technical resource for junior mechanics, guiding them through complex diagnostics and repairs.
Mentor and coach team members to promote skill development and efficiency.
Support road tests up to 150km from the facility to ensure vehicle functionality and performance.
Diagnose and resolve any issues identified during road testing to maintain operational standards.
Valid 310T (Truck and Coach Technician) Certificate of Qualification.
3+ years of experience in automotive, diesel, or related fields.
High-Voltage (HV) Safety Certification and HV Maintenance/Repair Training are highly desired for work on hybrid and electric vehicles.
Basic understanding of Diagnostic Tools such as Vansco, Cummins INSITE, and other vehicle diagnostics systems.
Basic understanding of Fleet & Data Management Software: Familiarity with Oracle, Fleetio, and Microsoft Outlook for maintenance tracking and reporting.
Valid Class G driver’s license required for road testing responsibilities.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (75 lbs. with assistance), perform repetitive movements (bending, kneeling, crouching), and work on elevated surfaces or confined spaces.
Must be able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).
Requires visual acuity to read diagnostics and inspect components, as well as hearing ability to detect vehicle noises and alarms.
Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations, while wearing PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and relevant HV PPE).
Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures.
Up to 10% travel for training and professional development at the New Flyer/MCI Training Center.
