We’re looking for someone who understands that business development is rejection, repetition, and results—and still shows up sharper the next day. At Substance, this role sits at the front of revenue. You’ll be responsible for opening doors with startups, SMEs, and Fortune 500 companies.
This is not a support role. This is a revenue role.
You will hear “no” more than “yes” → if that drains you, this is not for you
You will be expected to think, not just execute scripts
You will be measured on outcomes, not effort
You will grow fast if you are serious—because the feedback here is direct
Well-spoken, presentable, and able to hold a conversation with senior stakeholders
Comes from a diverse background or has exposure beyond a single environment
Mature, grounded, and able to take ownership without constant supervision
Strong interpersonal instincts—you know how to read people, not just talk at them
Highly disciplined, consistent, and not driven by mood
Takes feedback seriously and applies it immediately
Resilient—you understand rejection is part of the process, not a personal attack
