Job Description

Band 5 - £32,073 - £39,043

Full time hours: 37.5 per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. If you are newly qualified or experienced Band 5 SLT looking to further develop your skills in assessment, rehabilitation and multi-disciplinary team working, then you will thrive with us. We offer a rotational Band 5 programme through Stroke, Neuro and Acute Medicine which allows for you to develop diverse experience as you complete your competencies.

We would also warmly welcome applications from individuals who are currently finishing their undergraduate SLT studies and looking for their first post in the acute sector.

If you are the successful candidate, you will

Work as part of the Acute SLT team, rotating through our defined clinical areas.

Provide regular communication assessment and therapy to patients, including those with complex needs.

In line with competency development, provide swallowing assessments and therapy to patients with dysphagia.

Collaborate and liaise with MDT colleagues to provide individualised, co-ordinated care to patients.

Provide clinical support, where appropriate to other colleagues, including students.

Take part in trust-wide training sessions to a range of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered member RCSLT
  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent

HCPC Licence to Practice

Driving licence
