Are you passionate about developing others, shaping high‑quality care, and supporting staff to deliver safe and confident practice in a paediatric high‑acuity environment? We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Paediatric High Dependency Practice Educator to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced paediatric nurse with high dependency knowledge and a passion for education to play a key role in supporting the development of clinical skills, confidence and competence across our paediatric workforce.
As our Paediatric High Dependency Practice Educator, you will work closely with the Senior Nursing Team, Ward Managers, and Learning & Development colleagues to ensure our staff receive high‑quality, hands‑on clinical education. You will be visible on the shop floor, actively supporting staff with real‑time guidance, structured on‑the‑job teaching, and skills development in the paediatric high dependency environment.
Your work will directly contribute to strengthening the capability of the team, improving patient experience, and supporting safe, effective care delivery.
A teaching/mentorship qualification and previous experience in an education or supervisory role are desirable but not essential—we welcome applicants who bring passion and the right attitude, and we will support your development.
Current RNC registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications
Substantial clinical experience in a paediatric high dependency setting
Practice assessor and practice supervisor skills
Demonstrable competency in assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for children requiring high dependency support
Clinically competent at Band 5.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Teaching and mentoring skills
Team building skills
Ability to prioritise workload, instruct and direct others
Organisational skills and able to work as part of a team
Able to support development of others
Articulate and knowledgeable of current professional nursing issues
