Job Description

Based at Epworth Hawthorn, this exciting opportunity offers you the chance to utilise your leadership skills to lead the nursing team in one of our specialist trauma rehabilitation units.

We are seeking a strong nurse leader to join our team of committed and professional rehabilitation nurses to contribute to the provision of excellent, compassionate specialist rehabilitation care.

The successful candidate will work as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team coordinating the delivery of specialist rehabilitation care.

Key responsibilities will include

Leadership of the rehabilitation nursing team

Management of the unit and coordination of patient care on a day to day basis

Monitoring of and implementing strategies to achieve agreed KPIs

Mentoring and coaching the ANUMs who support the NM

Provision of support to and collaboration with our medical staff and allied health teams involved in the patient’s care to facilitate high quality, safe and compassionate care to patients and their families / carers

Patient assessment and management of all clinical issues relating to the patient’s condition

Active engagement in clinical governance and quality improvement activities

Position Description Inherent Requirements

You will be a strong, high performing registered nurse with a minimum of five years of nursing experience at ANUM level as a minimum. You will be well supported by the DCS in transitioning to the role. An understanding of and experience in trauma informed care will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse or Midwife with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Management Qualification (e.g. graduate Diploma) or equivalent or working towards one or willingness to commence within agreed period
Post graduate qualification in the area of specialisation
Membership of appropriate professional body
