The Senior QA Automation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our in‑house DBO applications. You will own quality across backend services, APIs, and UI components, while driving a prevention‑first and shift‑left testing mindset. The role requires strong technical depth, automation leadership, and the ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver highly stable and secure releases.

You own the quality strategy across services and applications, promoting prevention‑first and shift‑left practices.

You design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for API and UI testing.

You drive high automation coverage ensuring reliable, meaningful, and maintainable tests.

You champion secure‑by‑design testing and identify vulnerabilities early.

You collaborate with developers to analyse defects, understand root causes, and prevent reoccurrence.

You support operational quality activities: log analysis, reviewing dashboards, metrics and contributing to incident investigations.

You contribute to testability improvements across architecture, APIs, and data flows.

You use AI‑assisted engineering tools responsibly for test creation, scenario expansion, and log analysis.

You mentor QA team members, promote knowledge sharing, and improve QA processes and maturity.

Skills

Strong expertise in Java automation development, building scalable API and UI test frameworks.

Working experience with JavaScript and TypeScript for frontend testing and debugging.

Proficiency in BDD (Gherkin/Cucumber) and writing clear, business‑readable scenarios.

Deep knowledge of API testing, contract validation, payload verification, and error‑handling flows.

Solid experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar.

Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (preferably MSSQL).

Understanding of RabbitMQ message flows, retries, event‑driven validation, and DLQs.

Experience testing services running in containers and Kubernetes.

Ability to read logs, traces, and dashboards for test design and root‑cause analysis.

Awareness of security testing principles, OWASP Top 10, and PCI‑DSS considerations.

Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improving test stability.

Familiarity with AI‑assisted testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).

Strong engineering mindset with structured thinking, documentation habits, and clear communication.

Preferable

Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).

Experience with contract testing frameworks.

Familiarity with Azure cloud environments.

Experience in financial or payment‑related systems.

Experience participating in production readiness reviews and release quality gates.

Qualifications and education requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

ISTQB Foundation or relevant testing‑methodology knowledge (preferred).

Strong English language skills (oral and written).

Experience

7+ years of QA automation experience in complex, distributed systems.

Strong experience working in Agile development teams.

Proven ownership of quality across multiple releases or products.
