YOUR ROLE AT HOSTINGER

We're looking for a Backend Developer to join our Hosting team — the engineers building how websites are created, deployed, and run on Hostinger.

We power 10 million+ websites, and we're rebuilding hosting for the AI era. That means 1-click installs, instant deploys, and workflows where AI handles the setup and operations users used to do by hand.

You'll design and maintain the backend systems and APIs behind this. The challenges are real: high request volumes, long-running operations, and APIs that stay fast and predictable as we add more automation.

You'll work closely with the front-end team and other stakeholders to ship features end-to-end.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design, develop and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to define API requirements.
• Optimize APIs for performance, scalability and security.
• Implement data storage solutions and database management.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
• Ensure proper documentation of APIs for internal and external use.
• Monitor and troubleshoot backend services to identify and resolve issues.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in backend development.
• Deliver high-quality code solutions and make decisions on product architecture.
• Write clear, scalable and tested code that creates actual business value.
• Share feedback with your peers.

WHAT WE EXPECT

• Extensive PHP experience (bonus points for Laravel).
• Confident knowledge and understanding of OOP principles & Design Patterns.
• Unit testing and end-to-end testing.
• Knowledge of REST API, SQL and any ORM.
• The Git versioning system is not new to you as you have tracked changes there numerous times.
• You know message queueing technologies like RabbitMQ, PubSub and Kafka.
• You know application containerization technologies, like Docker.
• Knowledge of the principles of microservice architecture.
• You are a self-starter who is not afraid to challenge the status quo.

COMPENSATION

Gross salary from 5000 - 7600 EUR/month. Specific compensation is offered based on work experience, competence and compliance with other job requirements.
