Our expanding baby and maternity brand is on a mission to delight families across the US, Canada, and Europe, and we are looking for a visionary Packaging Graphic Designer to elevate our physical product experience. Because we take immense pride in our presentation standards, our evaluation process includes a practical packaging sample task. We will exclusively review applications and advance candidates to the shortlist upon the successful submission of this trial project.
Key Responsibilities
- Packaging Layout Development – Create accurate packaging layouts using dielines (including boxes, sleeves, labels, inserts, hang tags, and stickers) in accordance with KeaBabies brand guidelines.
- Content Application & Formatting – Apply and structure packaging elements such as approved copy, icons, benefit highlights, charts, barcodes/UPCs, product information, and all required regulatory markings.
- Print-Ready File Preparation – Prepare production-ready files by ensuring correct bleed and safe zones, precise dieline alignment, proper CMYK color setup, font handling (outlined or packaged), linked assets, and adherence to export specifications.
- Mockup Creation for Review – Develop clean 2D layouts and simple 3D mockups to support internal reviews and facilitate efficient approval processes.
- Packaging Updates & Version Control – Manage packaging revisions efficiently, including updates to pack sizes, copy or language changes, product claims, retailer or Amazon variants, and seasonal refreshes.
- Packaging Design Execution – Design full-color packaging for existing products, including front, back, and side panels, ensuring clear visual hierarchy and consistent brand representation.
- Template & System Management – Maintain and refine packaging templates and systems to ensure consistency across SKUs and variations, including typography scales, grid structures, icon usage, and layout standards.
- Final Asset Organization & Handoff – Organize and deliver final production files to the Product Development team, ensuring clear file naming conventions, structured folders, proper exports, and accurate version control of final assets.
Must-have requirements
- Packaging design + production experience (consumer goods preferred), with ability to work from dielines.
- Strong understanding of print production basics:
- ► bleed / safe zone / trim
- ► CMYK vs RGB
- ► exporting print-ready PDFs
- ► font handling (outlining/packaging) + linked assets
- High attention to detail (typo-free, aligned layouts, consistent spacing, correct SKUs/info).
- Ability to execute both minimal / limited-ink e-commerce packaging, and full-color box designs for existing products when needed.
- Comfortable with fast iteration + versioning (counts, sizes, copy/claim updates, variants).
- Strong file hygiene: organized layers, naming conventions, clean exports, version control.
- Clear communication and ability to implement feedback quickly in an async remote workflow.
- Capability to use the following tools:
- ► Adobe Illustrator
- ► Adobe Photoshop + Acrobat
Nice-to-have, but optional
- Proficient understanding of InDesign
- Familiarity with Amazon/e-commerce packaging limitations (clarity-first designs, compliance notices)
Portfolio requirements
- Portfolio displaying packaging projects (ideally features at least: - one minimal/limited-ink design layout, and - one complete-color box design).
