Senior Directeur Technique des Effets / Senior FX TD

Les Directeurs Techniques des Effets et des Simulations chez DNEG rassemblent une variété d’éléments 3D produits par nos départements de Développement d’Éléments 3D, des Maquettes ainsi que d’Animation et utilisent un logiciel standard – principalement Houdini et des outils de pipeline personnalisés pour créer des simulations de cheveux pour les meilleurs effets visuels.

Qualifications

Certificat ou diplôme en production de VFX
Showreel de production démontant les effets photo-réalistiques tels que la fumée, le feu, les nuages, l’eau, la vapeur, les explosions et la destruction
Capacité démontrée à créer des effets très complexes et sophistiqués
Souci du détail, un bon sens du timing et une compréhension approfondie des techniques et technologies relatives à la simulation physique et infographique
Démontrer un fort œil artistique
Intérêts au travail en temps réel FX
Connaissance approfondie de Houdini
Familiarité avec les problèmes pipeline et la résolution de problèmes
Familiarité avec Nuke et une solide compréhension du processus de composition
Expérience de travail autonome avec une supervision minimale

Atouts

Expérience dans d’autres domaines des effets visuels (télévision, jeux) sera également prise en compte

Expérience en tant que Directeur Technique Généraliste

Connaissances de Maya, Python, Hscript ou Mel

Forte compréhension des systèmes d’exploitation basés sur Linux/Unix

Démonstration du développement d’outils, notamment à Houdini

Veuillez noter que ce poste est un poste syndiqué et qu'il sera couvert par une convention collective entre la société DNEG et IATSE dans les mois à venir. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and reside in Quebec and British Columbia

FX TDs at DNEG gather a variety of 3D assets produced by our Build, Layout and Animation departments and use off the shelf software - primarily Houdini - and custom pipeline tools to create high-quality particle, pyro, rigid body, fluid, cloth, fur and hair simulations for top VFX Feature Films.

Must Haves

Diploma or Certificate in VFX production
Production showreel demonstrating photo-realistics effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, explosions, and destruction
Demonstrated ability to create highly complex, sophisticated effects
An eye for detail, good sense of timing, and thorough understanding of techniques and technologies relating to physical simulation in computer graphics
Demonstrated a strong, artistic eye
Interest live-action FX work

Knowledge of Houdini

• Familiarity with pipeline issues and problem-solving
• Familiarity with Nuke, and a solid understanding of the composting process
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

• Experience in other areas of visual effects (TV, Games) will also be taken into account
• A good Generalist TD background
• Maya, Python, Hscript or Mel knowledge
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems
• Demonstration of tool development, specifically in Houdini

Please note that this is a unionized position and will be covered by a collective agreement between DNEG and IATSE, in the coming months. As a unionized employee, you will be required to join the union and will benefit from the conditions set out in the collective agreement.
