JOB OVERVIEW

The Management Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance function through accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. The role involves hands-on accounting work, analytical review, and support for the month-end process. The position requires strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Accounting & Reporting

Confidently execute month-end processes, including journal posting for: Prepayments, Expense Accruals, Fixed Asset Acquisition and Depreciation, Revenue Accruals, etc.

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prepare draft P&Ls with analysis and commentary.

Assist in development and analysis of quarterly forecasts.

Support the preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements.

Lease Administration

Support the maintenance of lease register in accordance with IFRS 16.

Support the calculation and posting of lease-related journal entries.

Reconcile lease accounts.

Data Analysis & Investigation

Analyse variances and trends across key financial metrics.

Investigate anomalies or unexpected results in financial data.

Provide ad hoc analysis to support decision-making and operational teams.

Process Improvement

Contribute to the continual improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting.

Assist in the implementation of system or process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Admin & Support

Support the admin function during busy times by assisting with processing customer & supplier invoices.

QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Management Accounting, and/or Financial Reporting.

CPA qualification is a plus.

Solid knowledge of key accounting principles and common processes (ie. Prepayments, accruals, depreciation, etc.)

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g. MYOB, NetSuite, Xero, SAP, or similar).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
