In this part time role, based at Epworth Freemasons (East Melbourne), you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient ward operations and excellence in customer service to all patients, visitors, medical staff and unit staff.
This role is working 3 days - Weds, Thurs, Fri either 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm
Greeting and directing visitors to the ward
Admissions and discharges
Managing phone calls and enquiries
Liaising with all areas of the healthcare team and key external stakeholders including the treating teams, support services and referrers
Being available at short notice to work weekdays

Epworth Freemasons also offers comprehensive cancer care, and a full range of surgical services, including robotic assisted surgery, orthopaedics and ICU care.
Epworth Freemasons has recently upgraded and expanded its operating theatres and admissions facilities, along with major refurbishments of patient rooms and building infrastructure.
You are a proactive, customer-focused administrator who thrives in a fast‑paced clinical environment. You work well as part of a team, adapt quickly and take pride in contributing to high-quality patient care.
Previous medical administration experience (hospital experience highly regarded)
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
Experience using IPM and hospital or patient information systems
Strong IT skills and confidence navigating multiple digital platforms
A clear understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements in healthcare
Flexibility to work across varying shifts and schedules
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Ward Clerk or medical administrator who enjoys being at the centre of patient care and supporting clinical teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
