We work in-person five days a week in our San Francisco, NYC, or London offices.

We're building the infrastructure that powers one of the world's largest expert networks and delivers expert data at unprecedented scale.

We're looking for exceptional engineering leaders to help us scale both our expert marketplace and the underlying platform infrastructure that powers it.

We value builders who have repeatedly chosen difficult problems, thrived in environments with high expectations and can point to concrete examples where their leadership materially changed the trajectory of a team, product, or company.

WHY THIS ROLE

The problems are genuinely hard, largely unsolved, and increasingly important to the future of AI. You'll have a direct hand in shaping both the systems we build and the teams that build them.

Depending on your background, you may lead engineering efforts focused on

• Marketplace growth, discovery, ranking, recommendations, search, matching, and AI-powered experiences that connect experts with opportunities
• Platform infrastructure, including payments, contracting, operational systems, reliability, scalability, and the core foundations that enable Mercor to operate globally

In either case, you'll be responsible for building products and systems that sit at the center of the AI ecosystem and help the world's leading AI organizations access expert knowledge at scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams
• Recruit exceptional engineers and raise the talent bar across the organization
• Define technical strategy and execute against ambitious business goals
• Partner closely with product, operations and company leadership
• Build highly scalable systems that support a rapidly growing global expert network
• Drive engineering excellence, velocity, and operational rigor

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale
• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performing software engineering teams
• A demonstrated track record of exceptional performance and sustained career progression in high-growth, high-talent-density environments
• Experience leading teams and organizations through periods of significant scale, ambiguity, or rapid change, with clear examples of the impact you've personally driven
