Reward and Benefits

• £36,000 to 42,000 (depending on experience)

About the role

A typical day for a Data Scientist in our team looks like this

• Writing code to process raw images and produce quantification algorithms that turn raw numbers into metrics that are meaningful for our customers.
• Working with our R&D team to consolidate early proof-of-concepts into solid prototypes.
• Contributing to the design, prototyping, testing, and integration of automated image processing and data science components into our production pipelines.

Who we are looking for

To succeed as a Data Scientist, we do need you to have experience of

• Proficiency coding in Python, with experience in libraries for computer vision and signal analysis
• Experience in traditional computer vision and image analysis methods (e.g. segmentation, filtering, model fitting, etc.)
• Understanding of software development best practices, e.g. clean code, CI/CD

Nice to have

• Experience in deep learning methods for image processing and signal analysis
• Experience in working with datasets produced by microscopy tools, in particular electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy.

Education / Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM or higher, or BSc with a clear equivalent path through relevant apprenticeship or accumulated experience.
