Electrical Maintenance Leader

The Opportunity

Our Western Port Manufacturing facility is looking for a Electrical Maintenance Leader in our Maintenance team based in Hastings . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have four major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

In this key leadership role, that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products, you will lead, motivate and develop our high performing team to meet and exceed our customer needs. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, you will be leading a crew of up to 10 members comprising of technical specialists and electrical trades.

What Will You Do?

While leading your team and having a direct impact on the delivery performance of BlueScope Australian Steel Products, this role will see you:

• reviewing the daily performance of equipment related matters & leading your team to ensure manufacturing excellence goals are achieved
• implement asset management plans for the plant
• lead your team in producing a high standard of output while working to scheduled plans
• nurturing the growth and development of your team
• effectively manage resources to ensure support of assigned manufacturing units
• regularly reviewing and prioritising future project work with the maintenance team

More About You

You will be an engaging leader focused on developing your team to deliver solutions to complex problems. In addition, you will bring:

• Electrical Trade (A Grade) strongly preferred or suitable tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and Frontline Leadership
• experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment
• team building skills, leadership and guidance ensuring your team follows manufacturing excellence targets
• a strong customer focus and the ability to deal with ambiguity and change
• good communication and influencing skills to deliver outcomes through others
• the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• experience in hazardous area management would be advantageous but not essential
